The core problem

GLP-1s are not psychiatrically neutral.

The direction is different for every patient, and often unpredictable in advance. That's not a reason to avoid a GLP-1 — it's a reason to have someone watching your full psychiatric picture while you're on one.

Mindful GLP evaluates both together, in the same visit, with the same physician.

DEPRESSION may improve may worsen ANXIETY may ease may intensify SLEEP may restore may disrupt FOCUS may clear may cloud MOTIVATION may enhance may impair
Why this needs one physician

Most prescribing only sees half the picture.

Most GLP-1 prescribers do not screen closely for psychiatric risk, and most psychiatric prescribers do not factor in a GLP-1. Patients are left to notice the interaction themselves.

GLP-1 prescribing rarely screens for psychiatric risk

Most GLP-1 prescriptions get written after a brief intake focused on weight and metabolic history. Depression, anxiety, sleep, and alcohol use are rarely assessed closely enough to catch a problem before it starts.

Psychiatric prescribing rarely accounts for a GLP-1

A psychiatric medication decision made without knowing you're on a GLP-1, or how that class of drug behaves, is a decision made on incomplete information.

The direction isn't predictable from the drug class alone

Two patients on the same GLP-1 can have opposite psychiatric responses. Getting this right requires individualized judgment, not a standard protocol applied to everyone.

Wherever you're starting

Start a GLP-1, adjust one you're already on, or hand us the whole regimen.

You don't need to already be on psychiatric medication, and you don't need to already be on a GLP-1. Mindful GLP meets you at whatever stage you're at and manages everything from there as one regimen.

  • New to GLP-1: a full psychiatric evaluation before any prescription is written
  • Already prescribed elsewhere: your GLP-1 folded into psychiatric medication management, continued or adjusted as clinically appropriate
  • Ready to consolidate: we take over prescribing for both, so one physician manages your complete regimen

Patient outcomes

What patients say.

★★★★★

"I started semaglutide through my PCP for weight loss and about six weeks in my anxiety got so much worse I almost quit. My PCP just told me to push through it. Here, we adjusted my psychiatric medications and the GLP-1 dose together and I feel like myself again."

Maya R. · 34 · Los Angeles · On combined regimen 5 months
★★★★★

"I'd never taken a psychiatric medication before and was nervous about starting a GLP-1 on top of that. They walked me through what could happen to my mood before I ever started one, and built the plan around it. My depression is the best it's been in years."

David K. · 41 · New York City · On combined regimen 7 months
★★★★★

"I was managing my Wellbutrin with one doctor and my Zepbound with another and neither knew what the other was doing. This practice took over both. It's the first time anyone looked at the whole regimen at once."

Your physician

The program I built because GLP-1s were being prescribed as if they were psychiatrically inert.

I kept seeing patients whose GLP-1 was reshaping their mood, sleep, or drinking in ways nobody had prepared them for — and psychiatric prescribers who had no idea the GLP-1 was even in the picture. Neither side had the full view.

I'm a triple board-certified physician with expertise in psychiatric medication management, metabolic health, and weight management. Every visit applies all three, with one physician who knows your complete regimen.

Questions

Common questions.

Is this covered by my insurance?+
Psychiatric medication management, including GLP-1 evaluation and prescribing, is covered by most major plans in California and New York. We verify your benefits after booking, so there's no charge to check, and you'll know your costs before your first visit.
Do I need to already be on a GLP-1, or on psychiatric medication?+
No, either. We see patients who've never taken a psychiatric medication, patients already on a GLP-1 prescribed elsewhere, and everything in between. Your intake determines the plan, not a prerequisite.
Can you start me on a GLP-1?+
Yes. New GLP-1 prescriptions are evaluated through the same psychiatric lens as everything else — we assess your mental health history first, then determine whether and how to start.
Can you take over a GLP-1 I'm already prescribed elsewhere?+
Yes. We can take over prescribing, adjust the dose or type as needed, or simply factor your existing GLP-1 into psychiatric medication decisions while you keep your current prescriber for that medication.
Will a GLP-1 make my depression or anxiety better or worse?+
It depends on the patient, and it isn't reliably predictable in advance from the drug class alone. That unpredictability is exactly why this needs individualized psychiatric assessment rather than a standard protocol.
Are all visits telehealth?+
Yes. All visits are telehealth, available anywhere in California and New York. Lab orders route to your nearest draw site with no additional appointments needed.
